This section is attacked by corrosive agents that cause a rapid decay of the metal with a significant reduction of the operating life of the pole. Special heat-shrinking sheaths are suitable for the rust protection of public lighting and electric traction poles, traffic lights and traffic signs. They are composed of very thick cross linked polyolefin.
